The temperature was nearing 90° and the
kids were enjoying the time outdoors with their friends. At one point, the sounds of an ice cream truck driving through the neighborhood filled the air. I turned to my husband and said: "There needs to be a margarita truck!" In that moment, an idea was born. Years later, here we are. Yes years! That idea was born some 15 years ago. For years I repeated that same statement. Then one day I thought "hmm can someone have an alcohol truck?" As I kept wondering the same thing over and over mobile bars started popping up on my Pinterest. Cute old camp trailers renovated into bars. Old horse trailers turned into bars. So I became curious on how these mobile bars worked. I googled, I read, watched YouTube videos (hundreds) and finally said YES! I want to do this. I want to own a mobile bar. I want to do something that my whole family could get into. Something that we could offer to anyone looking to enjoy the Central Washington weather. A new venture. Now I just needed to get all my ducks in a row to convince my husband that it was a great idea. Thankfully my wonderful husband Philip said yes. Yes we could become bar owners. So I went to work. Investigating the ins and outs of a trailer renovation. Yes, all before I had a trailer. What did I want though? A camp trailer? A horse trailer? How expensive and difficult would it be to renovate a camp trailer? How expensive and difficult would it be to renovate a horse trailer? The camp trailers can be so adorable. Oh the decisions! So as you can see I chose a horse trailer. Now that was a whole other road to travel. Where do I find a used horse trailer? For cheap preferably. So I looked. And I looked. Then one day this poor fella showed up on Facebook Marketplace. I thought, oof he's in rough shape. Is he though? I just need him to have a good frame. He was 2 hours away so I drug my brother and daughter out to go look. Oh he was a looker (as seen in pics). He was going to need some work. ALOT of work! My daughter and I looked him over. Tried to decide if it was worth it. Again, I just need it to have a good frame. He was cheap! So looong story short I told my brother to hook him up and off we went. He? Yes he. My daughter and I decided that the trailer looked like a sad old man that needed to be classed back up. So Norman he became. Norman is going to be one sharp dresser. We pulled into our driveway and stood back and looked at him parked in his new home. No really we looked realizing we had a lot of work to do. So to work we went.
There ya go! That's our story!
That's how Tip & Sip Mobile Bar Co. became.
